A week at the seaside.

I'm doing a bit of house sitting in Worthing this week, and the weather this weekend was perfect for a beach visit. It's a pebbly beach and is much quieter that Brighton along the coast but just as lovely.

The Pier is a lovely Art Deco building in the Streamline Modern style. I wanted to put on a 30's frock and pretend I was in Poirot!

After a long walk along the beach I treated myself to a cream tea at the Dome Cafe.

Remember I'm moving this blog soon so come see mt at B's Blog.

Lots of news!

So, it's been a while!
I've been attempting to sort out some things one of them being a move of house and city.
I'm exited for a change but nervous too.

I felt it was time for me to get out of London and when an old friend called and said she was moving to Brighton and did I want to come I jumped at the chance!

So we set about sorting the move, we found an amazing house or more like it found us!
The couple that live there are lovely and both having re-married the are wanted to sell his house, rent hers and getting a new place to start there life together, unfortunately this has meant that we have been stuck in their chain!
Our move in date was almost a month ago now and I'm living on my friends sofa, though we have a definite move in date now and I have some house sitting to do, so it has been frustrating but I'm hoping it will be worth it.

So here are some photos I've taken whilst waisting time!

First I visited a friend at the quirky book shop she works in.

Then we went for a walk along the canal at Camden, I can't beleve I've never done that before it's lovely

Next I'll be in Worthing for a bit so I'll update some photos from there soon, then off to Norwitch for a bit then in to the new house!

Also as well as moving house I'm moving the blog, and I'll attempt to post more often. I'll be over at bmillinery from now on so pop over and see me and let me know what you think.

Greenwich and a Poodle

My Mum was down for a quick visit this weekend and today we popped to Greenwich for breakfast and a wonder. There is a of work going on around the waterfront at the moment to smartening it up and get it all ready for the Olympics but it was such a lovely sunny day we didn't mind and the maritime buildings themselves are untouched, it's just getting to them that is the problem!

Most of the work is going on around the Curry Sark though I think they will be finished soon and I think it's going to be well worth a visit once it's done.

We took a walk back through the Clocktower market which has stalls selling antiques and jewellery and all sorts of goodies. My mum bought a lovely silver tea set that looks like an old bee hive and I got me a water jug in the shape of a poodle!

I know many would call him hideous but I love him, the water comes out his mouth when you pour!

I just have to think of a name for him now!

A Book Launch and a Hat.

I was honoured to be invited to the Style Me Vintage Book Launch on Saturday evening and what an evening it was! There were so many faces from the blogging world there it was lovely to finally meet them in person. I got to see others that I have met briefly before as well as meeting lots of lovely new people.

I mainly managed to take photos of the lovely food!
There were amazing Pork pie cupcakes and of course actual cupcakes. I have to say they were the best cupcakes I have had in a long time. The Pork Pie cakes were made by Wild Thexton and the Cakes by Restoration Cake.

I went to the event straight from my day job and thought I was organised, I had my curlers in all day and my dress in my bag. When I took the curlers out I realised I had forgotten my brush and lippy!
Luckily for me Kelly of Hayday Honey was at the launch to save me!
Here she is doing Glamourologist's hair.

I took some pics of mine once I got home, you can also see the hat I wore in these too.
I am trying to make me a hat a month this year so I have some to wear out myself.  This is my January hat.

It was my first go at hand blocking where you only use that block as a base and play with the felt to get shape.

It was a very glamorous event and there were some amazing outfits going on. There was a photo booth set up by Hanson Leatherby and I can't wait to see the results.

I have to say a huge Thank you to Vintage secret and The Vintage Mafia for putting on such a lovely night and making me feel so welcome.

Me a model!

As I mentioned a few weeks ago I teamed up with Beth Ann Photography to shoot a few hats and some of One Hand Knits Knitwear designs and here are some of the results. Although it took me a while to get used to being in front of the camera I quite enjoyed myself in the end.

You can see more on my facebook page.
These are a couple of the ones for One Hand Knits.

You can see more of One Hand Knits designs here.
And a huge thanks to Beth Ann Photography for managing to make me look so good!

ZOMG Bloggers Bash.

On Monday evening I was lucky enough to be involved in the huge ZOMG Bloggers bash for the launch of the new Rockalily Lipstick shade made for London Lip Gloss

There were almost 200 bloggers invited, all with a name badge!

Kelly of Hayday Honey was there for all your hair and makeup needs.

I had a selection of my hats for trying out.

Peeping over this rail is Lizzy of Betty Blues Loungerie who had her lovely wares for people to try on.  I had a try of the Nell Robe, it's amazing and I want one to make my sitting round the house so much more glam!

Then you could go have your photo taken in Tigz Rice's pop up studio, the amazing results of which are here.

To top the evening off we were treated to Burlesque by Rubyyy Jones and Miss Banbury Cross, I was need the back so my photos of them were a bit rubbish sorry!
All in all it was a really fun evening and I got to meet lots of lovely ladies, see ReeRee's blog post on the event with lots of good photos and links to other posts here.
